the sinking sun and the sea
they are perpetually on a collision course to meet their end
together and separately
one descends into the water
the other ripples with false hope
they never collide
together, they are grander than all of us
hypnotic
the fat molton golden orb lures us in like a siren to sailors at sea
to the brink of a promise
in the hope it will begin again
